FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to determination of quality of liquid application on the surface of plant leaves and can be used in agriculture to assess the quality of spraying plants and in other branches of science and technology. A method for determining the proportion of area occupied by drops during spraying is disclosed. The method includes spraying liquid onto plants, reading the results of spraying and processing them. Water drops are applied by a sprayer to the surface of the plant leaf and the surface of the plant leaf is thermographed with a thermal imager. The share of the area occupied by drops is defined as the proportion of thermogram pixels whose temperature is not higher than the sum of Tmin+dT, where dT=(Tmax-Tmin)/2, Tmax is the maximum temperature value on the thermogram, Tmin is the minimum temperature value on the thermogram.
EFFECT: reducing the labour cost of determining the quality of the coating of plant leaves during spraying, since it does not require the use of special cards, their placement, collection, drying, and the invention can be used to control the quality of spraying in real time, that is, to monitor the current quality.
