FIELD: polymer chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: polymer compounds based on ethylene propylene diene rubber for the manufacture of insulation for power cable with extruded insulation for a rated voltage of 6 to 35 kV, inclusive. An electrical insulating compound based on ethylene propylene diene rubber is proposed, including (wt. parts): ethylene propylene diene rubber (100), organic peroxide (5-11), zinc oxide (2-8), kaolin (50-150), characterized in that it additionally contains a softener (paraffin (2-8), rosin (2-8), high-pressure polyethylene (8-18)), a filler (calcium oxide (3-9), titanium dioxide (5-12), barium sulphate (2-8), aluminium hydroxide (3-9)), as well as an antifatigue (polyethylene wax (1-6)) and an antioxidant (a condensation product of acetone with aniline (0.5-2)).
EFFECT: improvement in physical and mechanical properties, including elastic and strength characteristics, in combination with high resistance under alternating loads at elevated temperatures, high resistance to thermal aging, high tensile strength.
