FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of polymer material for the manufacture of insulation of an electric cable from an aggressive medium, in particular an oil submerged cable, applied for the supply of submersible motors, including for installations of electric centrifugal pumps in oil wells. Polymer electrically insulating material is prepared by preparing a composition comprising an ethylene-propylene diene rubber containing, mole%: ethylene 60–77, ethylidenenorbornene 0.9–6, propylene the rest, a vulcanizing system containing organic peroxide and a co-agent of vulcanization 1,2-polybutadiene, a filler carbon black with a particle size of 250–403 nm, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, zinc oxide, lead oxide, bifunctional vinylsilane, paraffin oil, antioxidant, calcined kaolin with a moisture content of less than 0.4% and technological additives, mixing the components and vulcanizing it. In this case, all components, except for the cure system, are mixed for 17–22 min in the mixer at the temperature of the mixture at the end of mixing not less than 145 °C, after cooling the mixture to 60–65 °C cure system is introduced, mixed for 5–8 minutes at a mixture temperature at the end of mixing no more than 110 °C and are vulcanized under a pressure of 7.4 MPa at a temperature of 170 °C for 20 min.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in thermal stability, dielectric, elasto-strength properties, a decrease in the relative residual compressive strain, an increase in the service life of the insulating material.
