FIELD: carbon fibre materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of electrically conductive carbon fibre materials that can be used in electrochemical processes, for example as gas diffusion substrates in fuel cells. According to the invention, carbon fibre material pre-heat-treated at a temperature of 2250°C with a surface density of 0.015-0.027 g/cm2, specific volume electrical resistance of 10.0-25.0 mOhm⋅cm and a thickness of 120-1000 microns is sprayed with an aqueous suspension of polytetrafluoroethylene in the amount of 0.0003-0.008 g per 1 cm2 of the surface of the material, dried at a temperature of 20-25°C for 1-2 hours, and then pressed at 300-370°C for 1-5 minutes. This leads to the fact that the carbon fibre filaments are covered with nano-, microparticles of fluoroplastic, combined by thermal sintering with each other into a microporous surface layer.
EFFECT: increase of manufacturability by eliminating the organic solvent while increasing the electrical conductivity, porosity, imparting superhydrophobicity to the carbon fibre electrically conductive material.
