The method for generating a pipe out-of-roundness prediction model includes performing a numerical operation having a set of operating conditions data as an input and an out-of-roundness of a steel pipe after the expansion step as an output. The operation is performed multiple times with varying sets of operating conditions. As a result, many sets of ovality data of the steel pipe after the expansion step are generated offline as training data. An ovality prediction model is generated, having a set of operating conditions data as input data and the ovality of the steel pipe after the expansion stage as output data. Model generation is performed offline using machine learning using training datasets.
EFFECT: it is possible to obtain a steel pipe with the required ovality.
