FIELD: metal forming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in production of steel pipes. Pipe manufacturing process includes a step of bending the ends of the steel sheet in the width direction, a step of pressure bending by forming a steel sheet into an open pipe and a step of expanding the pipe produced by connecting the ends of the open pipe. Method of forecasting ovality of steel pipe includes stage of forecasting ovality after stage of pipe expansion. Prediction stage uses a machine learning ovality prediction model. For the model, at least one working parameter selected from the working parameters of the end bending stage and at least one working parameter selected from the working parameters of the pressure bending stage is used as input data. Output data is represented by information on steel pipe ovality after pipe expansion stage.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of pipe ovality prediction and production of article with required ovality.
