FIELD: solar panels.
SUBSTANCE: spacecraft (SC) solar battery deployment device comprises a support pad on the SC body and a support element fixed to the deployed object. On the support platform there are three drums rotating from the drives. Sleeves are wound on the drums in the form of tapes glued along the edges of pairs of carbon fibres using polyetheretherketone. Pairs of rollers are placed at the corners of the equilateral triangle formed by the drums. Between each pair of rollers, the edges of the sleeves are overlapped. The sleeves in the extended position have a lenticular shape in cross section. On the body of the spacecraft there is a carrier drum with a film solar battery wound around it. The edges of the sleeves with an overlap are bonded using ultrasonic welding. The electrodes are each pair of rollers.
EFFECT: possibility of deploying a large-area solar array in space.
