METHOD OF PREDICTING CEREBRAL PALSY IN PREMATURE CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B5/11 A61B5/103

Abstract RU 2804797 C1

FIELD: medicine; pediatrics.

SUBSTANCE: child at the age of 6–8 months of life is assessed for psychomotor development using L.T. Zhurba and E.M. Mastyukova scale. The following characteristics of the statokinesiogram are determined: the length and area of the statokinesiogram, the ratio of the length of the statokinesiogram to its area. The prognostic index D is calculated using the formula D = 43.063 - 0.998×A1 + 0.012×A2+0.603×A3 - 1.159×A4 + 0.005×A5 - 0.002×A6. A1 is the overall total score of L.T. Zhurba and E.M.Mastyukova scale, points, A2 is statokinesiogram area, mm2, A3 is ratio of statokinesiogram length to its area, 1/mm, A4 is gestational age, complete weeks of gestation, A5 is birth weight, g, A6 is the length of statokinesiogram, mm, 43.063 is a CONSTANT. When D is more than 0, cerebral palsy is predicted in a very premature child by the corrected age of 1 year. When D is less than 0, the absence of cerebral palsy in a very premature child is predicted by the corrected age of 1 year.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to non-invasively predict cerebral palsy in very premature infants with high accuracy, sensitivity and specificity, identify a group at risk for the development of cerebral palsy and timely carry out preventive measures in order to reduce disability and improve the quality of life of this category of patients.
