FIELD: timber transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water transport of timber, in particular to rafts, and is intended for transporting round timber. The raft contains longitudinal rows (lines) of rafting units, consisting of rows of round timber, the lower and the upper transverse spacers, the ends of which are tightened by rafting rigging, which includes two rings connected to each other by means of chains through a turnbuckle equipped with locknuts. In each longitudinal row, side sets are applied to the first and the last rafting units. Along the sides of each longitudinal row, under the upper and above the lower transverse pads of the rafting units, between the rows of round timber and the rafting rigging, side tracks are laid, which are connected to the side sets using plate clamps. In the head and the tail parts of the raft, there are transverse beams connecting the rafting units to each other. The transverse beams are connected to the side rails and the side sets by means of rigging locks.

EFFECT: simplified design of the raft and the process of its formation and rafting of round timber along shallow rivers at low costs.
