MOBILE LABORATORY FOR DETERMINING METHANE CONTENT IN AIR Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC F17D5/02 G01N21/3504

Abstract RU 2804987 C1

FIELD: gas analysers.

SUBSTANCE: mobile gas analysers that use infrared radiation to determine the concentration of natural gas in the air and is intended to determine locations of gas leaks from pipelines. The mobile laboratory contains a sampling device with an inlet directed towards the oncoming flow of atmospheric air, a gas analyser connected to the sampling device via a gas line with filters installed in it, and a pump. The sampling device is made in the form of a hollow body, tapering in the direction from the inlet to a solid wall located opposite the inlet. The body of the sampling device is made in the form of a trapezoidal plate and a flexible skirt attached to it along the entire perimeter, located in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the plate. The inlet of the sampling device is made in the form of a cut-out of part of the skirt in the area of the larger side of the plate. The pump inlet is connected to the cavity of the sampling device through an inlet tube, the longitudinal axis of which intersects the direction of movement of the sampled medium in the sampling device. The pump outlet is connected through a gas line to the inlet of the gas analyser with the possibility of pumping part of the selected medium into it, and is also communicates with the atmosphere through an outlet tube with the possibility of releasing part of the selected medium into the atmosphere. The output of the gas analyser is connected to the input of the vacuum pump, while the gas analyser has the ability to selectively absorb infrared radiation by methane molecules in the wavelength region of 3.2-3.4 mcm.

EFFECT: improved accuracy and stability of the results of measuring methane content in the air when moving a mobile laboratory along the object under study.
