SUBSTANCE: processing audio data. In each frequency subband from a plurality of frequency subbands, the detected level and spatial parameters are weighted by means of their respective level and spatial distributions for the target source and backgrounds; storing, using one or more processors, the weighted level, spatial parameters, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in the plurality of subbands for each sample in the combined set of samples in a table; and re-indexing, using one or more processors, the table with the weighted level parameters, the spatial parameters, and the subband, such that the table includes the target SNR in percentiles of the weighted level and spatial parameters, and the subband, and such that, for a given input of the quantized detected spatial and level parameters and subband from the table, the estimated SNR associated with the quantized detected spatial and level parameters and subband is obtained.
EFFECT: detecting and extracting individual audio sources from two-channel mixes.
