SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a device and method for processing audiovisual data. The device for processing audiovisual data for a scene contains a receiver for receiving audiovisual data for the specified scene, an image retransformer for performing content-dependent non-uniform transformation of the first image into a second image that has a different aspect ratio, while the image retransformer is configured to generate transformation data describing the content-dependent heterogeneous transformation, an audio retransformer for replacing the first audio element of the plurality of audio elements with a second audio element generated by modifying a spatial property for the first audio element in response to the transformation data.
EFFECT: possibility of adapting playback videos to a specific aspect ratio.
