SUBSTANCE: invention concerns growing cells in a hydrogel to create three-dimensional models of organs or tissues using additive 3D bioprinting technology. An apparatus for volumetric incubation of cells includes a body filled with a hydrogel with immobilized microbial cells, and branching microchannels made in the hydrogel with immobilized microbial cells. The device is equipped with a lid, a container with water, a bubbler, a holder, a heater, a fan, and a branching wick located in microchannels. One part of the branching wick is placed in a container with water, and the other is attached to a holder. The holder is made in the form of a disk and is mounted on stands on the lid. The water container is connected to the lower part of the body and is equipped with an opening for air exhaust and fittings for filling and draining water. The bubbler is located in a container of water. The heater and fan are installed on the lid with the ability to blow warm air over the part of the branching wick between the lid and the holder.

EFFECT: highly efficient supply of oxygen to microbial cells immobilized in the hydrogel and removal of carbon dioxide released by the cells throughout the entire volume of the reaction space of the apparatus for volumetric incubation of cells, which is necessary to ensure cell metabolism.
