FIELD: auxiliary accessories for surgery.
SUBSTANCE: method of folding a surgical drape for performing hip arthroplasty using a direct anterior approach with the patient lying on his back involves placing the surgical drape on the surgical area and draping the patient. The surgical drape contains an outer surface with an insert in the area of surgical intervention, an inner surface, an upper edge, a lower edge, side edges and shoe covers. The insert has rectangular holes with incision film. Shoe covers 80-110 cm long and 60-70 cm wide are located in the middle of the surgical drape on a horizontal surface so that the shoe covers and the insert in the surgical area are located outside the surgical drape. The shoe covers are located 15-25 cm below the level of the rectangular holes with the incision film. The shoe covers are folded telescopically so that the folded shoe covers do not exceed a height of 30 cm above the horizontal surface. Next, the top, bottom and side edges of the surgical sheet are rolled cylindrically towards the telescopically folded shoe covers so that the distance between the resulting side rolls does not exceed 100 cm, and the distance between the side rolls and the telescopically folded shoe covers is 12-17 cm. The resulting top roll, which accommodates contains rectangular holes with incision film and has a thickness of no more than 30 cm, located at a distance of 5-10 cm from the telescopically folded shoe covers. The bottom roll, which includes an insert in the surgical area and has a thickness of no more than 30 cm, is placed at a distance of 5-10 cm from the telescopically folded shoe covers.
EFFECT: as a result, the time of preoperative preparation, performed with fewer assistants, is significantly reduced. Draping the patient in 1 minute increases efficiency for both the surgeon and the hospital.
