FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for destroying unwanted vegetation. The method includes a single impact on the vegetative above-ground part of the plant in the form of its isolation from sunlight so that when the leaves of the plant first appear, they are covered with mulching material so that the apical part of only one leaf blade of the plant remains above the surface of the mulching material. As leaves, petioles, or leaf blades of the plant appear above the surface of the mulching material, the layer of mulching material is lifted vertically using a gripping device in the form of a metal fork and lowered so that the leaves, petioles, and leaf blades of the plant remain under the layer of mulching material. The apical part of one leaf blade is left above the surface of the layer of mulching material, and the process is repeated until the plant is completely exhausted and dies. The mulching material can be freshly cut grass or straw.
EFFECT: reduced time required to carry out a set of measures to combat weeds.
