FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to collect, localize and dispose of spills of oil, oil products, organic solvents from the surface of reservoirs and solid surfaces. A superhydrophobic sorbent for collecting oil, oil products and organic solvents on solid surfaces and water bodies is presented, having the following composition, wt.%: graphene oxide 65.0-75.0 polytetrafluoroethylene 25.0-35.0. In another embodiment, a method for obtaining a sorbent is provided, including obtaining a suspension of polytetrafluoroethylene - graphene oxide by ultrasonic treatment, which is dropped in the form of drops into a container containing liquid nitrogen, after which the frozen granules are removed from liquid nitrogen and freeze-dried at a temperature of -40 to -60°C for 48-72 hours, then heat treatment of the granules is carried out in two stages: first, the granules are heated to a temperature of 100-120°C to remove sorbed water and keep at this temperature for 20-30 minutes, at the next stage, the temperature is increased in steps of 20°C increase to 350-370°C and maintained at this temperature for another 30-40 minutes. The invention provides high sorption characteristics, high porosity and superhydrophobicity of the sorbent, when the contact angle of wetting with water is at least 160°.

EFFECT: using the sorbent in water bodies without loss of material for water sorption, as well as the possibility of repeated use of the sorbent (up to 10 times) in the sorption-desorption cycle.
