FIELD: sorbent materials.
SUBSTANCE: method for obtaining a sorbent is presented, including acidic and oxidative treatment of cellulose-containing raw materials carried out in the presence of aqueous solutions of an acid agent and an oxidizing agent to obtain a treated cellulose-containing raw material, filtering the treated cellulose-containing raw material to obtain a cellulose-containing precipitate, washing the cellulose-containing precipitate with a neutralizing solution to form a washed cellulose-containing precipitate, dispersion washed cellulose-containing precipitate in water to obtain an aqueous suspension of cellulose, grinding the obtained aqueous suspension of cellulose to form an aqueous suspension of cellulose microparticles, dispersing the acrylate monomer in the obtained aqueous suspension with the addition of an acrylate monomer polymerization initiator to obtain an emulsion of acrylate monomer stabilized by cellulose microparticles, heating said emulsion at 50–90°C for 1–12 hours with stirring to form an aqueous dispersion of the polymerization product, cooling the resulting dispersion, separating the polymerization product by filtration and then drying the precipitate formed at a temperature of 40–90°C to obtain the target sorbent in the form of a powder or fibrous mass.
EFFECT: ensuring distribution of the acrylate polymer over the surface of cellulose fibres directly in an aqueous dispersion, thus eliminating the need for product washing stages due to the formation of a Pickering emulsion of the monomer before the polymerization stage, as well as an increasing the sorption characteristics of the target sorbent.
