FIELD: petroleum product sorbents.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to production of polymer materials with an open porous structure that can be used as sorbents to eliminate the consequences of emergency oil spills from the surface of water and soil. A method for producing a porous polymer material based on collagen-containing raw materials with magnetic nanoparticles of Fe (II, III) oxide with a size of 10-140 nm is disclosed. To implement the method, magnetic Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles and 0.1-0.2 g of glutaraldehyde are successively added to an aqueous dispersion of collagen-containing raw materials with stirring, then the homogeneous dispersion is frozen at a temperature from –5 to –20°C and dried at a temperature of 60°C. Alternatively, 0.1-0.2 g of glutaraldehyde is added to the aqueous dispersion of collagen-containing raw material with stirring. The homogeneous dispersion is then frozen at a temperature from –5 to –20°C, dried at 60°C, then sequentially impregnated with a 0.1–0.4 M aqueous solution of iron salts FeCl₂ and FeCl₃ at a ratio of 2:1 and 10–20 wt.% of aqueous ammonia solution and neutralized to neutral pH.

EFFECT: obtaining a relatively cheap non-toxic polymer material with magnetic Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles located on the surface of collagen fibres, which prevents them from being washed out when absorbing liquid, and also makes it possible to collect the sorbent with the oil product after the end of the sorption process using a magnetic field.
