SUBSTANCE: methods for protection against counterfeiting, for monitoring legally produced locking and sealing devices (LSDs) that are actually intended for disposal. The method for monitoring LSDs subject to disposal is that paint is applied to the LSDs with the addition of a luminescent pigment. A bar code is applied, which encodes a unique access key to information in the information system for LSDs. A unique access key is generated in the information system and entered into the database; using a bar code scanner, the bar code applied to LSDs is scanned and the unique access key is linked to the LSD identification number, activating the bar code. In the process of operating with LSDs, using a radiation source, the presence of pigment particles is checked. Using a scanner, a bar code is scanned, displaying LSD information on the display device, and/or recording the result of LSD identification by the presence of glow of pigment particles and the bar code.
