FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for suprachoroidal administration of a medicinal product for uveal cystoid macular edema. 25G access is provided in the infero-nasal sector for the left eye, and in the infero-temporal sector for the right eye. Using a 25G vascular knife, a V-shaped incision is made in the sclera until a sensation of “failure” is felt. The free end of the scleral flap is lifted with tweezers, and a cannula with a beveled end is inserted parallel to the limbus into the suprachoroidal space. The distal part of the cannula is pressed upward onto the sclera. Triamcinolone, centrifuged and diluted with balanced salt solution, is injected under visual control. Then the cannula is removed, the hole after the vascular knife is closed. Sutures are placed on the conjunctiva.
EFFECT: invention improves the safety and effectiveness of treatment of uveal cystoid macular edema, due to the precise and controlled administration of the medicinal product into the suprachoroidal space.
