SUBSTANCE: method for video processing includes downsampling the chrominance and luminance samples of a neighbouring block of the current video block; determining, for converting between the current video block, which is a chrominance block, and the coded representation of the video, cross-component linear model (CCLM) parameters based on downsampled colour and brightness samples obtained by downsampling; applying CCLM on the brightness samples located in the brightness block corresponding to the current video block to obtain prediction values of the current video block; and performing transformation based on the prediction values.
EFFECT: increasing video encoding efficiency.
