FIELD: video encoding means.
SUBSTANCE: spatial neighbour block of the current video block is determined, wherein the current video block is an intra-frame block, and the spatial neighbour block is applied with a first prediction mode in which the spatial neighbour block prediction samples are obtained by performing a boundary downsampling operation on the reference spatial neighbour block samples based on the size of the spatial neighbour block, followed by a matrix-vector multiplication operation and followed selectively by an upsampling operation. The first prediction mode is converted into a second prediction mode for a spatial neighbouring block, wherein the second prediction mode differs from the first prediction mode. Based on the second prediction mode, a list of mode candidates for the current video block is compiled. Based on the mode candidate list, a prediction mode for the current video block that is different from the first prediction mode is determined. Conversion based on the prediction mode for the current video block is performed.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of video encoding.
