FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: metal flow stabilizer filter in the mould cavity consists of two plates (1, 2) with conical holes (6) connected to form an internal chamber. One plate has sides along the perimeter, and the plates are connected by means of a groove along the perimeter of one plate and a protrusion along the perimeter of the other. The holes are located narrowing in the direction of metal flow, the longitudinal axes of the holes of one plate are shifted relative to the axes of the holes of the other. The volume of the internal chamber (Vc) is: Vc=(1.5-3.0)⋅Vhole 6, where Vhole 6 is the volume of metal simultaneously entering through the conical holes into the inner chamber. The total cross-sectional area of the inlet holes meets the condition: n⋅Shole 6≥m⋅Shole 7, where Shole 6 is the cross-sectional area of the conical hole at the entry to the filter-stabilizer, Shole 7 is the cross-sectional area of the conical hole at the exit from the chamber, n is the number of conical holes at the entry to the stabilizer filter, m – the number of conical holes at the exit from the chamber.
EFFECT: quality of the manufactured casting is improved by creating a laminar metal flow, which facilitates filling the mould at the optimal time and reduces the entry of mould particles into the casting body.
