FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with injection of fuel or fuel-air mixture into working cylinder. Proposed engine contains cylinder with piston, fuel-air mixture charger and cylinder head which accommodates spherical or conical combustion chamber and cylindrical prechamber. Volume of prechamber is chosen to comply with condition Vp≥Vc/ε, where Vc is volume of combustion chamber; ε is compression ratio of fuel-air mixture, and height of prechamber is taken within the limits hp = 0,1...4,0 D, where D is diameter of prechamber. Combustion chamber and prechamber are connected with mixture charger by one several channels. Projections of sections of axes of channels getting into combustion chamber and into prechamber onto plane of longitudinal section of working cylinder are arranged at angles of 90-20o and 90-140o, respectively, relative to axis of working cylinder. Inlets of channels are arranged tangentially to surfaces of chambers. Channels of combustion chamber are directed opposite to channels of prechamber. EFFECT: increased engine power and reduced toxicity of exhaust gases owing to use of lean fuel-air mixture. 3 cl, 3 dwg
