FIELD: logging operations.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for harvesting wood in cutting areas with a uniform distribution of undergrowth. The method for developing cutting areas is carried out as follows. With a harvester, which approaches the forest wall at the point of the trail, the cutting of the trail in the apiary is carried out by felling trees located within the boundaries of the trail onto the forest wall in the direction of the harvester, followed by pulling the trees towards themselves, pulling their trunks through the delimbing knives of the harvester head and laying them along the right and left edges of the dragging of logs, and logging residues on the trail. After passing the trail with a harvester, which then enters the next trail to cut it, or after turning around, half-blocks located along the drag are developed, trees growing in the half-blocks are felled with their tops on the trail. The butt part of the felled trees is lifted by the harvester manipulator and carried out onto the trail. After this, the harvester inside the trail processes the felled trees (delimbing and cross-cutting) and cross-cutting the logs laid along the trail, dividing the cut assortments into three groups (long, medium and short) on the right and left along the edges of the trail and piles of logging residues on the trail.

EFFECT: reducing the damage to undergrowth when developing cutting areas with its uniform location.
