FIELD: synthesis.

SUBSTANCE: equipment for the synthesis of superhard materials under high pressure. The press contains assemblies with hinged beams having a cavity with a diameter of 1250 mm or more, oriented in six directions. Adjacent assemblies are connected to each other using pin clamps. Each assembly includes a pivot beam, a piston, a rear plug mounted in a mounting hole in the lower portion of the pivot beam, and a guide bushing mounted on the piston. The hinge beam is produced by forging and molding using open-die forging and stamping. Free forging produces a forged intermediate blank with a quincunx-type structure in the form of four elements located at the corners of a square with a fifth element in the center. The intermediate blank is then placed into a mold to final form and forge the hinge beam.

EFFECT: increase in the dimensional accuracy of the hinge beam and the strength of its surface, as well as a reduction in its manufacturing operations.
