FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to converter electrical engineering, in particular to pulsed power step-down converters. It can be used in methods of organizing power supply to devices as a primary or secondary power source using lithium-ion batteries, during the operation of which optimal conditions for the charging process are required. The method of controlling a pulsed power step-down converter consists of charging in two stages a lithium-ion battery, which is a load for an input chopper circuit with a current sensor and a voltage sensor, controlled from a PWM driver by a signal generated by a series-connected voltage error generator, multiplexer, and voltage error generator. current and voltage and modulator. When, at the second stage, the decreasing charging current of the battery reaches the minimum value set by the reference voltage, a current error generator and a set of logic elements generate a multiplexer control signal that prohibits the passage of PWM signals from the modulator output to control the power transistor switch of the chopper, and the generated DC voltage signal closes this transistor switch, ensuring that the flow of charging current to the battery is turned off to charge it.
EFFECT: optimal charging conditions for a lithium-ion battery, resulting in a long service life and operational reliability.
