FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: charger contains four fully identical, interchangeable charging units. Each unit consists of a front and back panels connected by two walls. On the front panel there are tumblers and potentiometers, measuring, protective devices and indicators. On the rear panel there are clamps connecting the voltage supply unit and the output wire "plus battery". Walls connecting the front and back panels of the unit are made of sheets of different metals. One of the walls is made of aluminum alloy, on this wall there are 2 boards of electronic components for controlling the charging unit. On the second wall are fixed elements of the output circuit of the charge circuit: a measuring shunt and an air choke, while the wall is made of steel sheet. Electrical circuit is a closed automatic control system operating according to the principle of pulse width modulation (PWM), a switch with a set frequency f, whose switching period T=1/f consists of two intervals: a closed and an open state of the key, is connected between the power supply voltage source and the load (battery). As an electronic switch, two parallel-connected isolated-gate field-effect transistors are used. Protection of electronic devices from switching overvoltages is provided by a large capacitor input capacitor. Power circuit of the regulator includes a current feedback sensor – the Hall sensor, soldered directly to the PWM control PCB, on which are installed: a clock pulse generator, a PWM chip operating on the principle of vertical control, a power transistor driver and a DC-DC converter for supplying electronic control circuits.
EFFECT: increased battery efficiency, saved energy and increased battery life.
