FIELD: mining and oil-extracting industries.

SUBSTANCE: used to protect installations of submersible pumps when pumping well fluids with a high content of mechanical impurities. The slot filter includes a pipe with a lower stop fixed at the end, while guide grooves and a filter section with perforations in the form of holes are made on the surface of the pipe. A filter element with a movable stop is installed coaxially to the pipe, on which an elastic element is attached, which is in contact with the inner surface of the casing. The novelty is that a diametrically expandable elastic element is located coaxially with the pipe between the stops, on which a transverse fastening is installed with the possibility of changing the diameter during deformation. The filter element consists of longitudinal vertical rods mounted on a transverse mount.

EFFECT: ensuring effective operation of the filter in downhole conditions with the separation of particles of a given size from the flow of pumped liquid, uniform self-cleaning and restoration of the permeability of the filter element in downhole conditions, and increasing the reliability of the filter as a whole.
