FIELD: mining and oil-extracting industries.

SUBSTANCE: used to protect installations of submersible pumps when pumping well fluids with a high content of mechanical impurities. The device includes a pipe with upper and lower fixed stops attached to the ends. On the surface of the pipe there are guide grooves and a filter section with perforations in the form of holes and fixed stiffeners in the annular space between the pipe and the filter element. A filter element with an adjustable slot size and a movable stop, on which an elastic element is fixed in contact with the inner surface of the casing, are installed coaxially to the pipe. A composite upper fixed stop made of a sleeve and a union nut is coaxially located inside the movable stop. The return spring rests on the upper fixed stop and the movable stop cover, which has elements included in the guide grooves of the pipe. The upper movable stop and the lower fixed stop are made with conical surfaces facing towards each other, on which rests a filter element consisting of ring springs with vertical longitudinal rods attached to them, having supporting surfaces at the ends.

EFFECT: effective operation of the filter in downhole conditions, its uniform self-cleaning and restoration of the permeability of the filter element in downhole conditions without tripping operations.
