FIELD: heat power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed mainly for heating small industrial garages, small houses, cottages, protecting chimneys from birds, when using flue gases from heating boilers. A device for heating and protecting a chimney from birds for gas boilers contains a heat source with a combustion chamber and a flue connected to the chimney in the form of a smoke exhaust pipe connected by an entrance window to a vertical chimney located on the outside of the wall outside the unheated room, the window with damper. Moreover, inside the chimney in form of a smoke exhaust pipe, consisting of a placed cylindrical pipe made of alloy steel for inlet of hot flue gas and supplying it to the upper part through the passage of a vertical tube located inside the vertical chimney, its end is connected to the end fixed on the upper part chimney with an annular rim-tube with branch pipes-nozzles, the end of which is cut at an angle of 20-30° to a vertical plane, located with its spray part towards the outer end part of the vertical chimney, while the entrance of the cylindrical tube inside the smoke exhaust pipe is made in the form of a diffuser. Smoke fills the perforated annular rim-tube, forming evenly spaced vertical jets of hot smoke through the nozzle pipes. The hot smoke entering the nozzle pipes repels birds around the round chimney and transfers heat, heating the end of the chimney itself to a temperature that prevents icing at the appropriate height of the vertical chimney. The diameters of the external smoke pipe and the vertical chimney are not less than the diameter of the smoke pipe leaving the gas heating boiler.
EFFECT: creation of a highly effective device for improving performance characteristics for scaring away birds on the upper part of the end of a chimney, including in conditions of negative temperatures and ensuring that the end of the chimney is free from icing.
