FIELD: paint and varnish coatings.
SUBSTANCE: manufacture of anti-corrosion paint and varnish coatings. A method for producing an anti-corrosion pigment involves reacting potassium permanganate with magnesium nitrate in the presence of sodium nitrite in an aqueous medium. Before the reaction, microtalc is suspended in an aqueous medium in an amount ensuring a microtalc/permanganate mass ratio of 80/20 to 95/5. Then potassium permanganate and magnesium nitrate are added to the resulting suspension with stirring, after which sodium nitrite is gradually added with stirring and the reaction is carried out until completion. The resulting precipitate is separated from the mother solution, washed and dried.
EFFECT: increasing the anti-corrosion effectiveness of the pigment.
