SUBSTANCE: vending device includes: (i) an interface configured to provide a user with the ability to select a consumable for use with the aerosol generating device; (ii) a first compartment for storing selected consumables; (iii) a dispensing device configured to dispense a selected consumable from the first compartment to a user; (iv) a controller operatively coupled to the user interface and the dispensing device and configured to cause the dispensing device to retrieve a selected consumable from the first compartment and dispense the selected consumable to a user; and (iv) a communication device operatively coupled to the controller and configured to receive data about the aerosol generating device.
