SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol generating device, a method for identification of a consumable part, and a non-short-term computer-readable carrier. The aerosol generating device contains a conjugation element for reception of at least a section of the consumable part, wherein the consumable part contains aerosol forming substrate and one or more conductive sections identifying the consumable part. The device also contains one or more pairs of conductors forming at least a section of one or more circuits, wherein the specified one or more pairs of conductors are made with the possibility of selective electric connection to the specified one or more conductive sections of the consumable part, when the consumable part is received by the conjugation element. A controller contains one or more processors, and it is functionally connected to one or more pairs of conductors, wherein the controller is made with the possibility of identification of the consumable part based on closure of one or more circuits formed by the specified one or more pairs of conductors and the specified one or more conductive sections, when the consumable part is received by the conjugation element. The aerosol generating device contains an electrical circuit for introduction of resistance between the first conductor and the second conductor of each of the specified one or more pairs of conductors, wherein closure of the circuit of the specified one or more circuits formed by the specified one or more pairs of conductors and the specified one or more conductive sections, when the consumable part is received by the conjugation element, provides bypass of resistance introduced between the first and the second conductors of the specified circuit.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of identification of a consumable part containing aerosol forming substrate.
