FIELD: devices for cutting precious stones.

SUBSTANCE: device for cutting precious stones contains a handle supported on a stationary table and a cutting head mounted on it, including a housing with a spindle installed in it by means of bearings in the form of a split collet with a stone holder, a dial mounted on the spindle, a mechanism for securing the stone holder, a mechanism for micro-adjusting the rotation angle spindle, including a worm gear. The cutting head mounted on the handle is oriented with the location of the plane of attachment of the stone to its holder on the imaginary axis of change in the angle of its inclination. The dial is located above the body, is made with depressions on its side surface and is included in the mechanism for micro-adjusting the angle of rotation of the spindle, the worm gearing of which is fixed on the arm of a two-arm lever included in the mechanism for micro-adjusting the angle of rotation of the spindle, placed between the body and the dial, the axis of rotation of which is parallel to the axis of spindle rotation. The worm gear is made with a worm wheel sector equipped with a protrusion and with the ability to move by a worm drive along an arcuate groove in the lever around the axis of rotation of the dial. The other arm of the lever, to ensure the fixation of the protrusion of the worm wheel sector in the cavity of the dial, rests on the return spring. The worm drive of the worm gear is equipped with a second dial and a braking unit. The stone holder and the spindle are equipped with a mutual orientation device, and the spindle is equipped with a lock that prevents its rotation when changing the stone holder.

EFFECT: invention improves the accuracy of the orientation of the stone being processed and reduces settings during transitions from tier to tier.
