FIELD: faceting of gems. SUBSTANCE: bearings in faceting head are spaced along the height of spindle sleeve, with one bearing offset towards its end in the direction of gem clamping point. The relation of the distances between the bearing offset towards the end of the spindle sleeve and the gem-clamping point and between the bearings is from 0.8 to 1.0, the fine-tuning mechanism is mounted on the bearing opposite to that displaced towards the end of the spindle sleeve, and the collet chuck has longitudinal locking slots spaced at 120 deg.
