FIELD: active response radar.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in atmospheric radio sounding systems. The technical result is to expand the operating range of the radiosonde system in terms of range and increase the stability of the tracking of the upper-air radiosonde (UARS) during its ascent. This technical result is ensured due to the fact that in the direction of the radar, as a response radio signal, the UARS re-emit the disturbed oscillations of the autodyne generator, then on the radar side this radio signal is received, extracting autodyne frequency changes from it in the form of a signal at the beat frequency, and compare the amplitude of the signal with the reference level voltage, then, if the amplitude of the signal exceeds the reference level, the output power of the radar transmitter is reduced, or, in the opposite case, it is increased.

EFFECT: expanding the operating range of the radiosonde system in terms of range and increase the stability of the tracking of the upper-air radiosonde (UARS) during its ascent.
