FIELD: medicine; thoracic surgery.

SUBSTANCE: pneumonectomy is performed from a lateral thoracotomy. After sanitation of the pleural cavity, endoprosthetics is performed. An endoprosthesis made from Macropore large-mesh plate is used in the shape of a hollow prism with opposing layers and adjacent sidewalls oriented in the direction of a longitudinal-vertical plane passing through the longitudinal axes of the spinal column and sternum. The endoprosthesis shaped like a hollow prism is placed between the 2nd rib and the diaphragm. The front sidewall is placed next to the sternum, and the back sidewall is located at a distance from the costovertebral angle. The anterior and posterior sides of the prism are connected with separate interrupted sutures around the anterior and posterior segments of the costal arches using a Bercy needle. Sutures are tied extrapleurally under the skin.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the reliability and effectiveness of preventing the development of post-pneumonectomy syndrome, regardless of the physiological characteristics of the human body.
