FIELD: ceramics.
SUBSTANCE: methods for producing optically transparent luminescent ceramics with high thermal conductivity, which can be used in the manufacture of ultra-bright white light sources with laser excitation. A method is proposed for producing luminescent ceramics, the composition of which is described by the general formula Y(3-xy)Ce(x)Al(5+y)O12, where 0.01<x<0.3; 0.02<y<0.2, while the starting materials for the manufacture of composite ceramics are aluminum and yttrium chlorides, cerium nitrates, aluminum chloride hexahydrate, yttrium chloride hexahydrate and cerium nitrate hexahydrate and tetraethoxysilane. The manufactured material is characterized by high thermal conductivity of more than 8.5 W/m⋅K, high luminescence intensity with a maximum emission in the region of 550-570 nm when excited by laser radiation with a wavelength of 450 nm.
EFFECT: manufacturing method ensures a uniform distribution of cerium cations in the ceramic grains.
