SUBSTANCE: armoured cable surface defect detection system installed on the oil-submersible cable armour line, containing pay-off devices, a tape wrapper, an armoured winding machine, a tape-type traction device, a control cabinet that includes a control panel, a monitor, a receiving device for winding the finished cable, an armoured winding head, including a shaft with a faceplate and a support drum, guide rollers for winding armoured tape, a technological drum with armoured tape, while the support drum and faceplate are made with the possibility of synchronous rotation, and the algorithm of the defect detection system is configured to transfer the result to the neural network to classify the image for compliance with the defects of the trained neural network, in this case, the control cabinet contains a block of video cameras, and an inductive drum rotation sensor is installed on the support drum, which is configured to transmit a pulse entering the control cabinet to the hardware trigger of the video camera, and the algorithm of the defect detection system is configured to determine the position of the cable and highlight the zone for searching for defects.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of determining the location of defects on the surface of an armoured cable.
