SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling production and feeding of a semi-finished product during tire building process. Said method for controlling production and feeding of a semi-finished product during tire building process involves detecting at least one first image representing a semi-finished product; dividing said at least one first image into a plurality of first subparts, wherein each of the first subparts consists of a plurality of first portions, each of which corresponds to a respective brightness value; defining a first threshold value for said brightness values; performing a first comparison between the brightness values of the first portions and said first threshold value; determining for each of the first subparts a first operative parameter characterizing a total area occupied in each first subpart by the first portions, which correspond to a brightness value that is less than or greater than the first threshold value, depending on the first comparison; performing a second comparison between each of the first operative parameters and the second threshold value; ensuring the generation of a first notification signal, depending on the second comparison. Also described is a device for controlling production and feeding of semi-finished products during tire building process.

EFFECT: invention provides an improved method for controlling production and feeding of a semi-finished product during tire building process.
