SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to the development of a catalyst for the hydrogenation of hydrotreated secondary middle distillate petroleum fractions containing aromatic compounds, and a method for preparing the developed hydrogenation catalyst. A catalyst for the hydrogenation of hydrotreated straight-run and secondary middle distillate petroleum fractions is described, containing platinum and palladium on a carrier, including ultrastable USY zeolite with a silicate modulus of more than 50, an alkali or alkaline earth metal, aluminium oxide, and the catalyst contains platinum and palladium in an amount of 0.15- 0.60 wt.% and 0.15-1.00 wt.%, respectively, and the carrier contains ultrastable zeolite USY in an amount of 5-10 wt.%, an alkali or alkaline earth metal in an amount of 0.1-0.5 wt.% in terms of oxide, and also additionally contains boron in an amount of 1.5-2.0 wt.%. in terms of oxide and the rest - aluminium oxide up to 100% of the mass. The method of preparing the specified hydrogenation catalyst includes preparing a carrier and impregnating it with a solution of active components, while the preparation of the carrier is carried out by simultaneous mixing of reprecipitated aluminium hydroxide powder of pseudo-boehmite structure, ultrastable zeolite powder (USY), distilled water, boric acid, concentrated nitric acid and an alkaline or alkaline salt -earth metal, after which the carrier is shaped, dried and calcined, and the finished carrier is impregnated with a hot aqueous hydrochloric acid solution containing hydrogenating metals, and to obtain such a solution, an aqueous solution of chloroplatinic acid is first prepared, then palladium chloride and concentrated hydrochloric acid, then the impregnated carrier is dried stepwise at temperatures 60, 80, 100, 120°C with exposure at each temperature for 2 hours, calcined for 4 hours at a temperature not exceeding 550°C, to obtain the finished catalyst.

EFFECT: development of a catalyst for the hydrogenation of hydrotreated straight-run and secondary middle distillate petroleum fractions with increased hydrogenating activity, increased yield of middle distillate reaction products and increased mechanical strength.
