SUBSTANCE: aerosol generating device contains: a heater; a housing containing a housing portion into which the aerosol-generating article being a cigarette is to be inserted; an electrode located separately from the aerosol-generating article at a certain distance such that the amount of charge varies depending on the dielectric constant of moisture in the aerosol-generating article inserted into the containing portion, and located so as to correspond to at least a portion of the aerosol-generating article; and a processor electrically coupled to the heater and the electrode. The processor receives a change in the electrode charge value in accordance with the dielectric constant of moisture in the aerosol-generating product.

EFFECT: increase of accuracy of data on the generated amount of aerosol and the user's whiff.
