FIELD: aerosol generating device.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for operating an aerosol generating device and an aerosol generating device. The method for operating the aerosol generating device comprises: detecting, based on the degree of change in the inductivity, whether or not an aerosol generating substance has been inserted into the cavity; heating the aerosol generating agent based on inserting the aerosol generating agent into the cavity; detecting whether the aerosol generating substance is removed from the cavity based on the degree of change of the inductivity during heating of the aerosol generating substance; and based on determining that the aerosol generating substance is removed from the cavity, stopping the heating of the aerosol generating substance based on the degree of change of the inductivity during the removal time set in advance.
EFFECT: possibility to automatically turn off the heater, prevent overheating of the device for aerosol generation and reducing power consumption.
