FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: daily ultraviolet irradiation of rats aged 10 months with a wavelength of 300-350 nm and a power of 50 W is carried out at a distance of 30 cm for 20 minutes, lasting 6 months. Before irradiation, double instillation of mydriatics and keratoprotective gel based on sulfated glycosaminoglycans is performed. After irradiation, a tissue repair stimulator based on dexpanthenol is applied.
EFFECT: activating the processes of photo-oxidation and accumulation of photolysis products in lens cells, which serve as a pathogenetic factor in the development of age-related cataracts.
