FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: photon-crystalline electrooptical fibre and method of making said fibre relate to optical and electronic industry and can be used in designing information transmission and processing systems in which use of fibre-optic elements with electrooptical effect is expedient. The photo-crystalline electrooptical fibre contains multi-component glass for the core and cladding and Bragg structure coating. The fibre also has electrodes which are incorporated when assembling the packet by laying them inside the Bragg structure glass coating in a given way. The method of making the fibre involves drawing separate glass tubes from glass rods which are components of the fibre, drawing electrodes in form of glass capillaries filled with metal, assembling a packet from the glass tubes with a hexagonal cross section and an inner Bragg structure, drawing a glass tube from the packet, assembling a secondary packet from glass tubes with a Bragg structure, electrode capillaries and glass tubes which form the Bragg structure coating, redrawing the secondary packet into a perform and then into a photon-crystalline electrooptical fibre.

EFFECT: possibility of amplifying light flux in optical fibre, increased electrooptical effect and possibility of controlling optical dispersion in the fibre.
