FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to production of metal-ceramic materials, including volumetric porous materials containing titanium nitride, using the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis. The reaction mixture is prepared from titanium or ferrotitanium with a titanium content of at least 60 wt.%, chromium or manganese nitrides and powders of nickel, copper or alloys based on them or high-carbon alloys based on iron in an amount of at least 5% by weight of the mixture of titanium or ferrotitanium with chromium or manganese nitrides. The resulting mixture is compacted and self-propagating high-temperature synthesis is initiated to obtain the desired compact metal-ceramic material.
EFFECT: enabling regulation of composition and porosity of the resulting material over a wide range.
