FIELD: production of mineral raw materials.
SUBSTANCE: production of mineral raw materials from mineral wool fibres for manufacturing of insulating products. In particular, a method is claimed for producing a briquette suitable for use as a mineral feedstock in a cupola furnace for producing mineral wool fibres. Said method involves combining the components of a) recycled waste mineral wool selected, b) cement and c) additional sugar or sugars to form a moulding sand, moulding and curing the moulding sand to form a briquette. In this case, the moulding mixture contains at least 10 wt.pts. by dry weight of sugar or sugars from: waste mineral wool containing uncured binder containing sugar, and/or additional sugar or sugars per 100 wt.pts. by dry weight of cement.
EFFECT: increase of mechanical strength of mineral briquettes with a compressive strength of more than 3.5 MPa.
