FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: protective thermal devices, intended to protect electronic equipment (EE) from overheating. The proposed thermal relay contains a collet sleeve placed at the base with a terminal plate rigidly fixed to it, protruding from the base and serving for connection to the load circuit, an adjusting screw with a contact part located in the collet sleeve, an insulator sleeve fixed to the base and a casing in which the base is placed and fixed. The contact plate is made in the form of an elastic L-shaped element, while one of its arms is placed on the insulator sleeve and extends out through the through window of the base for connection to the load circuit, and the other arm contains a contact fixed on the upper surface of the contact plate and facing its end surface to the end surface of the contact part of the adjusting screw. The bimetallic plate is L-shaped, and its contact stop is made of insulating non-thermal conductive material, placed and fixed on one of its arms on the side of the surface with the passive layer, coaxially with the contact of this contact plate and with an interference fit in the connection of its end surface with the lower surface of the contact plate, while the other arm of the bimetallic plate is placed on the shank of the fastening element installed in the insulating sleeve.
EFFECT: creating a thermal relay with increased reliability of operation for closing and opening upon reaching any of the values of preset temperatures from the temperature range and without restrictions on the transfer of large switching currents during the operation of general mechanical engineering products.
