SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a drum for winding hot-rolled strip into a roll. The drum contains a mounting support of the device, a rotary connector, a hydraulic cylinder, a connecting part, a spindle, a plunger, a dividing plate, a hollow main shaft installed on the mounting support of the device and put on the spindle, a lubrication system and a cooling system. There are many sliding edges evenly distributed on the surface of the spindle. The plunger is configured to be in sliding contact with the sliding faces. The lubrication system is designed to cool the contact point between the plunger and the sliding faces through the oil channel. The cooling system is configured to cool the hollow main shaft and the dividing plate through a water channel. The supply of lubricating oil and coolant to the lubrication system and cooling system, respectively, occurs through a rotary connector installed in a fixed position.
